Common Name Oersted's Lockhartia [Danish Botanist and Orchid Collector 1800's]

Flower Size to almost 1" [to almost 2.5 cm]

It is found from Mexico to Panama and Colombia as a caespitose, medium sized, cool to hot growing epiphyte from dense jungles up to 2600 meters in elevation and has a long zigzag stem carrying imbricate, distichous, equitant, semitriangular, obtuse or acute leaves with an axillary, pendant, to 1 1/2" [3.5 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising from the upper leaf axils occuring at any time of the year that has cordate-semi-orbicular, apiculate, amplexicaul, glaucous bracts and needs more shade and water while growing but always keep damp.
