Found in E Ecuador in wet lower montane forests at elevations around 450 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an ovoid pseudobulb enveloped by distichous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying conduplicate, obliquely ovate, acute leaves covered with red-green pustules, that blooms at most any time of the year on an erect, to 2.4" [6 cm] long, capitate, few to several flowered inflorescence.
