Found in Amazonas and Para' states of Brazil in hot humid lowlands at elevations around 70 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with slightly curved, narrowly linear-oblong pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several distichous, imbricating, close-fitting shetahs and carrying oblong-lanceolate, leathery, acute leaves thqat are conduplicate below to form a short, narrow petiole-like stem that blooms in the winter on a 3 1/2 to 4" [9 to 10 cm] long, slightly flexuous, slightly fractiflex, basal inflorescence.
