Found in Siera Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Sudan, Zaire and Zambia in swamp forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a miniature to just small sized, warm growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to a elongate, pseudobulbous stem carrying usually 3, around the middle of the stem, suberect to spreading, ovate, thin-textured, narrowing below into the petillate base leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, terminal, dense umbellate, to 10 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers
