Found in Penninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java and Sumatra in lower montane forests at elevations of 750 to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with pendulous, apically turning erect, stems carrying many, elliptic, rigid, green above, violet below, margins undulate, unequally and obtusely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendant, to 10" [25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
