Found in Venezuela and Colombia at elevations around 950 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with clustered, ellipsoid, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by several, leafless and leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, linear, oblong to oblong elliptic, acute to shortly apiculate-acuminate, attenuate and conduplicate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on 1 to 4, basal, erect, 3.6 to 6" [9 to 15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped below by several close to distant, acute to shortly acuminate bracts.
