Common Name The Beautiful Blooming Maxillaria
Found in Ecuador and Peru as a cool to cold growing epiphyte at elevations of 2000 to 2800 meters with ovoid, rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptical-oblong leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, erect to suberect, 6" [15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
