Common Name or Meaning The Broad Leafed Maxillaria

Found in Sao Paulo State and Santa Catarina State Brazil and Bolivia at elevations around 400 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, fusiform-cylindric, longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several, imbricating sheaths and carrying a single, fleshy, oblanceolate, canoe-shaped leaf that is attenuate into the pseudo-petiole that blooms in the spring and fall in Brazil on a short, basal inflorescence that is enveloped completely by the imbricating sheaths of the rhizome and pseudobulb.
