Found in Hainan province of China and Vietnam on trees or on rocks in mixed forests at elevations around 600 meters as a giant sized, hot growing epiphyte with a climbing, elongate stem carrying many, linear, leathery, obtuse leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring
