Found in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania at elevations of 0 to 200 meters in swamps with the base of the plant in standing water as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a thread-like single leaf that blooms in the late winter and earlier spring on an erect, 6" to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, 3 to 30 flowered inflorescence.
