Found in Rio De Janiero Brazil in hot humid lowlands at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with somewhat compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by 1 to 2 leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 linear-oblong, acute, leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect to arching, slightly flattened, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
