Found in Nicaragua and Costa Rica in wet montane forests at elevations of 390 to 450 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with oblong-conical, slightly compressed pseudobulbs that are without leaves at blooming and carry plicate, elliptic leaves and blooms in the winter on a basal, to 8" [20 cm] long, 3 to 4 flowered, racemose inflorescence with 5 distant bracts and membraneous, triangular-ovate, acute floral bracts carrying fragrant flowers.
