Found in wet montane forests of Peru at around 1200 meters as a small sized, warm growing, deciduous epiphyte with conic-ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricate, distichous, leaf bearing sheaths that have elliptic, acute to short acuminate leaves that are tapered to the conduplicate base that blooms in the summer on an arcuate, several [10 to 15] flowered inflorescence that arises from near the apex of a leafless pseudobulb and is held at basal pseudobulb height and carries fragrant flowers.
