Found in Cape Province, Lesotho, Natal and Orange Free State in grassy ledges and in rock crevasses in full sun at elevations of 1500 to 3100 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a solitary, basal, elliptic leaf and a much smaller one up the stem that blooms in the spring and early summer on an erect, terminal, to 10" [25 cm] long, laxly [1] 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence
