Common Name Gammie's Nervilia [English Botanist at the Chinchona [Quinine] plantations 1800's]

Found in Pakistan, the western Himalayas, India, Nepal and the eastern Himalayas in pine forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing terrestrial with a subglobose, tuberculate,stout, green tuber giving rise to a glabrous, orbicular-cordate, acuminate, undulate margin, basal sinus deep, veined, deep green above, pale green beneath, narrowing below into the cylindric, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, green, 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence with linear, membraneous floral bracts.
