Found in India, the eastern Himalayas, Laos, Thailand and panninsular Malayasia at elevations around 1700 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a slightly flattened tuber giving rise to a tall, straight stem with 2 internodes and linear-oblanceolate, acute, wide sheath carrying broadly cordate, funnel-shaped, crimped margins, minutely dentate-crenulate, 5 to 9 veined, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, single flowered inflorescence with a lanceolate, acute to acuminate, concave, 3 veined floral bract
