Found in Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador at elevations of 180 to 1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an oval to elliptic, laterally compressed, rather ancipitous edges, longitudinally rugose to grooved pseudobulb partially enveloped below by several, triangular, conduplicate sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing and and carrying a single, apical, ereect, thick, rigid, leathery, conspiculously wrinkled and channeled above along the midvein, prominently keeled below, apically rounded, narrowing below into the petiolate-like base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect to arching, to 12" [30 cm] long, closely spaced, cylindrical, racemose inflorescence many flowered,
