Found in southeastern Yunnan and northern Guangxi provinces of China, Thailand and Vietnam in open forests on limestone rocks at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters as a warm to cool growing lithophyte with a short to nearly inconspicuous stem carrying 3 to 6, subbasal, distichous-equitant, linear to linear-lanceolate, acuminate, articulate below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall on a relatively rigid, 4.8 to 5.2" [12 to 13 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
