Found in the western Himalayas, the Chinese Himalayas and Yunnan China, the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Myanamar, Thailand and Vietnam at elevations around 850 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a very short, tufted stem carrying ensiform, slightly falcate, tapering to base, acute leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, axillary, verticiliate, stout, broad, compressed, becoming, fleshy, terete, tapering, adnate to the leaf apex, densely many flowered inflorescencewith ovate-orbicular, iregularilly deeply serrate floral bracts with flowers that are sunken into the rachis
