Common Name The Letter "M"-Shaped Odontoglossum

Found in Ecuador and Peru in upper montane cloud forests at elevations of 1450 to 3300 as a large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial on steep embankments with cylindrical, flattened, elongate, pseudobulbs completely enveloped basally by imbricating, distichous sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing carrying a single, apical, linear-lanceolate, conduplicate towards the base leaf and blooming at any time of the year on an axillary, erect, 3' [90cm] long, densely multiflowered, paniculate inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb through the axil of a basal sheath with very small flowers.
