Common Name The Sceptre Bearing Odontoglossum

Found in Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 2350 to 2800 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs that taper apically and are partially enveloped by 2 pairs of distichous, imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths that blooms in the winter and early spring on an axillary, erect then arching to pendulous, 12" [30 cm] long, loose, racemose inflorecence that arises on a recently matured pseudobulb and carrying to 16, faintly fragrant, showy flowers
