Found in Madagascar in wet montane forests at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters as a cool growing terrestrial with fusiform-cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 4, narrowly elliptic, long petiolate base, clear glossy green, plicate leaves that blooms in the late spring through fall on an erect, simple, to 20 flowered inflorescence.
