Found in Brazil in montane forests often in treetops on moss and lichen covered branches in full sun to partial shade as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with small, broadly ovoid, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several imbricating sheaths and carrying 1 or 2, apical, thin, erect, spreading, linear, acute, conduplicate below into the petiole-like base and blooms in the fall and spring on a basal, to 4" [10 cm] long, wavy, 7 flowered inflorescence arises on a recently matured pseudobulb with nodding to spreading flowers. that blooms in the fall in the southern Hemisphere.
