Found in Colombia and Venezuela in cloud forests at elevations around 400 to 1300 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovate, to 3" long, compressed, generally fairly strongly grooved pseudobulbs enveloped by a pair of leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 1 to 2 apical, erect, smooth, medium green, linear, obtuse, minutely bilobed apically mid nerve dorsally finely carinate, folded and becoming conduolicvate towards the base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, axillary, to 20" [50 cm] long, occasionally small branching and fractiflex towards the apex, alternate, several to many flowered inflorecence
