Common Name Moreno's Lophiaris [Bolivian Orchid Collector Current]

This small sized, epiphytic, warm to hot growing, mule ear epiphyte with red speckled leaves occurs in SE Brazil, Peru and Bolivia in dry tropical forests at elevations of 170 to 1000 meters with very small pseudobulbs enveloped basally by non foliaceous, dry sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, thick, rigid, gray greeen with maroon spots leaf and blooms in the spring and summer on a stiff, erect, 2 to 3 1/2" [5 to 9 cm] long, panicle with many small, fragrant flowers, densly covering the inflorescence and giving it a conical appearance.
