Common Name The Shield or Dish-Shaped Oncidium [refers to the lip's shape]

Found in Ecuador at elevations around 1600 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with an ovate, strongly compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms on a paniculate, arching to ascending, 3 to 5, short branched each with 2 to 3 flowering below, 12" [30 cm] long, several flowered, racemose above inflorescence
