Found in Costa Rica and Panama in in wet montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 800 meters as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte that blooms in the winter and spring on a many branched, many flowered inflorescence

Similar to and often refered to as a synonym of Oncidium baueri.
