Found in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia as a miniature epiphyte in cloud forests at elevations of 200 to 1800 meters with short ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 tubular sheaths carrying a single, elliptical, acute leaf that is cuneate into the petiole and blooms on a short, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul with the flower held near the leaf base.
