Common Name The Dark-Brown Otochilus - In China Xia Ye Er Chun Lan

Flower Size .6 to .7" [1.4 to 1.6 cm]

Found in China, Assam, Eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanamar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam on subtropical jungle slopes on old tree trunks at elevations of 780 to 2500 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphtye with cylindric-fusiform, rugose, pendant pseudobulbs arising from the apex of the previous pseudobulb and enveloped basally by fibroius sheaths and carrying 2, apical, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall to spring on a proteranthus [arising on a mature pseudobulb], semi-erect, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, glabrous, laxly 14 to many flowered inflorescence with persistent, linear-oblong, subtruncate, scarious floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
