Common Name Bullen's Paphiopedilum [English Orchid Gardener 1800's]

Flower Size 3 to 3 1/2" [7.5 to 8.25 cm]

A humus growing epiphyte found in Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi and pennisular Malaysia at elevations of 0 to 1850 meters and is a medium sized, warm to hot growing, terrestrial species of steep slopes and on moss covered rocks in the light shade of low forests with elliptic to narrolwy elliptic, indistinct mottled darker green on bluish green leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 12" [30 cm] long, generally single flowered, purple pubescent with purple spotted scape and a ciliate bract holding the flower well above the leaves.
