Common Name The Snow-White Paphiopedilum
Flower Size 3" [5 to 7 cm]
A small sized, warm to hot growing, dwarf, terrestrial species with 4 to 5, strap-shaped to narrowly elliptic, motttled dark green and gray leaves with purple spotting beneath that is native to Thailand, Burma, peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and surrounding islands which is found in limestone rock crevasses near the sea at elevations of 10 to 60 meters in humus filled cracks on limestone cliffs with bright light where it blooms in the spring and summer with an erect, terminal, pubescent, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, single or occasional 2 fowered inflorescence. This species requires moderate shade, high humidity, warm to cool temperatures, and ample water while growing and a cool dry winter rest.
