Found in Sulawesi in wet open grasslands in full sun at elevations of 1100 to 1200 meters with up to 5, linear-oblong, conduplicate, carinate, dark green above, lighter green below, coriaceous, distichous leaves and can bloom in winter spring and fall on an erect, terete, purple brown, pubescent, single to several [5] flowered inflorescence.
