A small sized, warm to hot growing, terrestrial species with elliptic to oblong, mottled light and dark green leaves that are bifid apically from the islands of the straits of Malacca and Sumatra that is found in leaf litter in coniferous forests and on rock ledges at elevations of 900 to 1300 meters where it blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, terminal, 12" [30 cm] long, dark purple, pubescent inflorescence with an elliptic-lanceolate floral bract carrying a single flower.
