This terrestrial cool to warm growing orchid is found in Madagascar in shady, humid forests at altitudes of 800 to 1700 meters where it blooms on a 2 to 4' [60 to 120 cm]long, basal inflorescence arising as the pseudobulbs mature with several [12], longlasting flowers held near the apex that can occur at any time of the year.
