Found in penninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra & Sulawesi in montane forests on mossy boulders and leaf litter at elevations around 1000 to 1800 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with pseudobulbs enveloped completely by imbricate leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying plicate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petilate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, to 4' [120 cm] long, 10 t o20 flowered inflorescence with oblong, obtuse, concave floral bracts that fall off as soon as the flowers open.
