Common Name The Striped Flower Phalaenopsis

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

This species is a small sized, hot growing, epiphytic native of the Philippines with short stems enveloped by several imbricating persistent leaf bearing sheaths carrying ditichous, elliptic, obovate-elliptic or obovate, obtuse or rounded apically leaves that are dorsally keeled and it blooms on a lateral, suberect to arcuate, racemose, zigzag, 10" [25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence that is longer than the leaves and has small, triangular, acute bracts occuring from summer through autumn. The long-lasting flowers are fleshy, waxy and fragrant. The inflorescence can produce new flowers for years so remove them only if the are dead.
