Found in the eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Myanamar, south China and Vietnam at forest edges at elevations of 1100 to 2100 meters as a miniature, warm to cool growing epiphyte with large roots and one to two, deciduous, oblong-elliptic, subacute leaves and blooms in teh spring on a suberect to erect, racemose inflorescence with 1 to 2 distant tubular bracts and lanceolate, acuminate, concave floral bracts carrying 4 to 6 color variable flowers
