Common Name Wilson's Phalaenopsis [English Plant Collector 1800's] - In China Hua Xi Hu Die Lan

Found in southern Yunnan China in montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 4 to 5, [sometimes leafless or with 1 to 2 leaves at blooming] sometimes purplish, reddish abaxially when young, oblong to subelliptic leaves that blooms on an arcuate or pendant, simple, variable length to 8" [20 cm] long, zigzag inflorescence with a few, fragrant, simultaneously opening flowers occuring in the spring.
