Found in Java and Sumatra in montane forests at elevations around 3400 meters as a medium to large sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem without tubers carrying 1 to 2, direct from the roots, lanceolate, acute, petiolate base leaves and direct from the stem, to 6, basally clasping, lanceolate, becoming smaller above leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence
