Common Name The Knife-Shaped Leaf Plectrophora

Found in Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia as a miniature sized, caespitose epiphyte in low tropical forests at elevations of 200-650 meters wit elliptic, complanate, ancipitous pseudobulbs subtended by a few distichous, imbricate, conduplicate sheaths with the uppermost being leafed and a single, apical, bilaterally compressed, subfalcate, tapered to an indisinct petiole, acute leaf that blooms on a short to 1" [2.5 cm], axillary, sequentially single flowered, racemose inflorescence with ovate, minute floral bracts and holding the flowers below the leaves and occuring in the spring, summer and early fall.
