Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador in primary forests at elevations around sea level to 700 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls carrying a single, apical, eret, ovate, acuminate, abruptly narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a compact, distichous, racemose, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence
