Found in Mexico, Belize, GuatemalaNicaragua and Costa Rica at elevations 1000 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by loose, tubular sheath below the middle and 2 shorter sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a subdense, secund, 3.2 to 11.2" [8 to 28 cm] long, simultaneously severla to many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising laterally from near the apex of the ramicaul through a conspicuous spathe.
