Common Name The Long Stemmed Pleurothallis [refers to the length of the ramicaul]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama in moist forests at elevations of 800 to 1700 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial with erect, slender, laterally compressed above the middle ramicaul, that has a tubular bract below the middle and 2 to 3 basal sheaths, a coriaceous, erect, narrowly ovate, acute leaf with its base cuneate to rounded, shallowly cordate and sessile. It blooms on 1 to 3, erect, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, fascile of solitary successive flowers borne from a reclining spathe at the base of the leaf.
