Common Name The Another Pleurothallis niessseniae Pleurothallis

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia near sea level as a miniature sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a tubular sheath below the middle and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 2 to 3, peduncle .1" [2.5 mm] long, simultaneous, single flowered inflorescence with as long as to slightly shorter than the ovary floral bract.

"Most similar to P simulans but distinguished by an elliptical, subpetiolate leaf and a fascile of 2 to 3 simultaneous, purple flowers. The dorsal sepal and synsepal are narrowly ovate and attenuate, the outstetched petals are fringed and the lip is broadly ovate with a zone of pubescence along the margins." Luer 2011
