Found in Ecuador in shady, wet tropical forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 tubular sheaths and another below the middle and carrying an erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly oblong, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a fascile of successive, single flowered inflorescence with the flowers held at the leaf base
