Common Name The Sierra de San Luis Pleurothallis [A mountain in Venezuela where the species was first collected]

Found in northeastern Colombia and Falcon State of northwestern Venezuela at elevations around 1400 to 1500 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped with a close, tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, convex, acute, rounded and shallowly cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect to suberect, lax, distichous, arising through a slender spathe at the base of the leaf, 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] long including the 1.6" [ 4 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously few to several flowered inflorescence with less than half as long as the pedicel floral bract.

"Characterized by the loose raceme of small, dotted, long-pedicellate flowers that more or less equals to surpasses tha leaf in length. The petals are decurved and subsigmoid. A small conical callus is present above the base of the lip between erect, rounded lateral lobes. This species can be color variable in the flower with sepals and petals from brown, light brown, brownish to golden yellow and can have none to pale to dark maroon spotting and the nerves can be inconspicuous to somewhat thickened and are sometimes colored light to dark maroon.
