Found in Malaysia, Java and Sumatra as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial near rivers in lowland and lower montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters with sheath-bearing terete pseudobulbs when young carrying a single apical, plicate, elliptic, acuminate, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 2' [60 cm] long, finely pubescent, successively several flowered inflorescence with lanceolate floral bracts.
