Found in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam and Ecuador in wet forested gullies at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with heavily ribbed pseudobulbs carrying 2, plicate leaves that blooms in the summer on a pendant, basal, to 12 flowered inflorescence
