Found in southeastern South Australia in woodlands at elevations of 250 to 450 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the late winter through spring on an erect, 10.4 to 20" [26 to 50 cm] long, 5 to 20 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, lightly scented flowers
