Common Name The Tubular Prescottia

Flower Size .4" long [1 cm] long

Found in Mexico and Guatemala in oak/pine forests in deep, damp loam and leaf mold at elevations of 1900 to 3000 meterse as a medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of ovate, petiolate base leaves that are not present at flowering which occurs in that fall through spring on a 18" [50 cm] long, erect, densely many flowered inflorescence enveloped below by several, short, membraneous, tubulr sheaths
